Strictly Come Dancing in Blackpool 2009
Date: 10-11-2009
Strictly Come Dancing hot footed it to the spiritual home of all things ballroom, as the show decamped to Blackpool for one night only, as part of the sparkling new series. Blackpool's neighbouring resort, Lytham, saw many famous faces browsing in its shops and inside Clifton Walks.Bringing a touch of old world grandeur and glamour, Blackpool’s famous Tower Ballroom played host to a special edition of the programme on Saturday 7th November.
Waltzing their way to the north, hosts Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly were joined by the nine remaining couples in the competition, as well as the judging panel.
Jay Hunt, Controller, BBC One said:
“It’s great that this year Strictly Come Dancing came back to the home of ballroom. Our night in Blackpool added extra sparkle to this series"
Mark Mills, owner, Clifton Walks added:
"Lytham is certainly the place to spot celebrities and with the Royal Variety Performance coming to Blackpool in December, anyone wanting to bump into a star should come to Clifton Walks and see who they can spot!"
